First Aid Certification Courses

BASIC FIRST AID

 

The Basic First Aid Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide use in a safe, timely, and effective manner.  3-4 hrs. course; class size no more than 15 attendees.


Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration, students will receive a First Aid  course completion card, which is valid for two years.  After successfully completing this course, students should be able to:

  • List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of the first aid rescue

  • Describe the key steps in first aid

  • Remove protective gloves

  • Find the problem

  • Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke

  • Use an epinephrine pen

  • Control bleeding and bandaging

  • Recognize elements of common injuries and illnesses

  • Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury

  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child

  • Demonstrate how to help a choking infant (optional)

BASIC First Aid CPR AED 

 

The Basic First Aid CPR AED Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe, timely, and effective manner.  4-5 hrs. course; class size no more than 15 attendees.


Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration and a CPR and AED skills test, students will receive a First Aid CPR AED course completion card, which is valid for two years.  After successfully completing this course, students should be able to:

  • List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of the first aid rescue

  • Describe the key steps in first aid

  • Remove protective gloves

  • Find the problem

  • Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke

  • Use an epinephrine pen

  • Control bleeding and bandaging

  • Recognize elements of common injuries and illnesses

  • Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury

  • Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival

  • Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival

  • Recognize when someone needs CPR

  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult, child, and infant

  • Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups

  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult and child​

Blended Options: First Aid | First Aid CPR AED

The BLENDED TRAINING Options consist of an (1) eLearning component and (2) an IN-CLASS session SKILLS test with an LS365 instructor.

The eLearning portion of the First Aid CPR AED blended learning course is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for CPR training, and how to use an AED. Upon completion of the online portion, students must complete a hands-on skills session with an Instructor.  This Blended Training option is offered to groups.  A date to perform a hands-on skills session will be scheduled at an agreed date most convenient for your organization or group.

  • Empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community

  • Online, onsite, and classroom training*, offering flexibility for Training Centers, Instructors, and students to select the appropriate training solution to fit their needs. 

  • Students must complete all optional modules that they need to print on the certificate prior to completing the course. Once the certificate is generated, it will not update with any additional modules completed.

Remote Skills Verification-First Aid CPR AED

The BLENDED TRAINING Options consist of (1) an eLearning component and (2) a Remote Skills Verification session with an LS365 instructor.  Courses options instructed via RSV are  CPR AED First Aid

The eLearning portion of the blended learning course is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for relevant training. Online learning along with a virtual component offers flexibility and convenience for organizations and students who are remote and can't attend a groups' in-class session. Upon completion of the online portion, students must schedule and complete a virtual skills session with a certified Instructor via Health Safety Institute's (HSI) streaming service.  

 

A date to perform a Remote Skills Verification session will be scheduled at an agreed date most convenient for your group or individuals.   

 

Blended Training option with REMOTE SKILLS VERIFICATION (RSV) up to 3 students per session

  • LS365 will ship training materials to the student(s) ANYWHERE within the USA with a return label

    • Training material; Manikin (adult/infant), AED, mask, gloves & cleaning material
    • ​​Multiple students don't have to be at the same location

  • The Remote Skills Verification session will be performed virtually along with an instructor at the time the student registers for

  • The virtual session is no more than 90 minutes
